Stanley Snuffer Ashtray
Explanatory Note
The hole you see in this ashtray was used to snuff out a cigarette, thus the term "snuffer". But it is not known whether this was a production piece sold by Haeger, or Haeger produced it for a company named Stanley or possibly even Stanley Snuffer.
That it was produced in a great many more glazes (colors) than a typical Haeger production piece, and that it doesn't have a design number on it, lead one to think it might be produced by Haeger under contract to another company. But one questions that assumption when no evidence of such a company can be found.
Thus the existence of the Stanley Snuffer remains a mystery to be solved another day.
